How it works
The documents that need signing are, almost by definition, the documents you should be most careful with: contracts, tenancy agreements, consent forms, anything with your address and bank details on it. Uploading one to a free website in order to draw a squiggle on it is a poor trade. Here the document is opened, signed and saved without ever being transmitted.
How to place it
Draw your signature in the pad with a finger, a stylus or the mouse. It appears on the page preview as soon as you lift the pen. Click anywhere on the page to move it, and use the width slider to size it. Choose the page number if the signature block is not on page one.
What kind of signature this is
This is a visible, drawn signature — an image of your handwriting placed on the page. It is what most people and most everyday agreements mean by “sign this PDF”, and it is what you would get by printing, signing and scanning, without the printer.
What it is not
It is not a cryptographic digital signature. It does not embed a certificate, it cannot prove who applied it, and it will not satisfy a process that specifically demands a qualified electronic signature. If a document requires that, you need a certificate-based service, and this tool is the wrong one — which is worth knowing before you send it rather than after.
Keeping the signature private
Because everything runs locally, the image of your signature is never uploaded, never stored and never reused. It exists in the page until you close it.
Sign a PDF — questions
Is this a legally binding signature?
For ordinary agreements a drawn signature is usually treated the same as a signed-and-scanned page, but the rules vary by country and by document. Where a qualified electronic signature is specifically required, this is not one.
Is my document or my signature uploaded?
No. Both stay in your browser. Nothing is transmitted and nothing is stored.
Can I sign more than one page?
One placement per run. Save the signed file and run it again to add another.
Can I upload a photo of my signature instead of drawing it?
Not yet — this tool takes a drawn signature.
