QR code generator
Turn a link or any text into a QR code, generated on your own device.
- Runs in your browser — your text is never sent anywhere
- No sign-up, no quotas, free to use as often as you like
How it works
Most free QR generators do one of two things you would not want: they log what you encoded, or they quietly point the code at their own redirect service so they can count the scans and, in some cases, charge you later to keep it working. This one encodes the code in your browser. Your link goes straight into the image, and nothing is recorded anywhere.
The code points where you tell it
There is no redirect and no shortener. The text you type is encoded directly into the pattern, so the code works forever, cannot be switched off, and cannot be tracked by us — we never see it.
Error correction, and why it matters
QR codes carry redundant data so they still scan when partly obscured. Low makes the smallest, densest code. Medium is the sensible default. Highest survives a logo placed over the middle or a printed code that gets scuffed, at the cost of a denser pattern. Raising it also makes the code physically larger for the same amount of text.
Size and the quiet border
Export at least 512 px for anything that will be printed; small codes photograph badly. The quiet border is the blank margin around the pattern, and scanners genuinely need it — removing it is only safe when you are placing the code on plain background yourself.
What you can encode
Anything text-based: a URL, a phone number, an email address, a wifi network string, a plain message. Keep it short — the more characters, the denser the pattern and the harder it is to scan from a distance.
QR code generator — questions
Do the codes expire or get tracked?
No. The text is encoded directly into the image with no redirect service in between, so the code works permanently and nobody can count the scans.
Is what I encode sent anywhere?
No. The code is generated in your browser, which is why this is safe for private links.
What size should I use for printing?
At least 512 px, and test a scan from the distance people will actually use it. Raise the error correction if the code will be small or placed on an uneven surface.
Is there a watermark or a limit?
No watermark, no account and no limit on how many you make.
