How it works
A signature as a transparent image is the piece you need once and reuse forever: dropped into a contract, an email footer, a letterhead or a form. The alternative is signing a sheet of paper, photographing it, and spending twenty minutes removing the background.
Transparent, and cropped to the ink
The PNG is saved with a genuinely transparent background and trimmed tightly to what you drew, so it sits cleanly on any colour and scales without a white box around it.
Drawing a decent one
A trackpad produces a shaky line; a finger on a phone or tablet is much better, and a stylus is best. Draw larger than you think — the canvas is high resolution and the result is scaled down wherever you place it, so a big confident stroke looks better than a careful small one.
Keep the file somewhere sensible
An image of your signature is worth protecting. Anyone with the file can place it on any document. Store it as you would a scan of your passport, not in a shared folder.
Signing a PDF directly
If the aim is to sign one document rather than keep a reusable image, the PDF signing tool on this site does it in one step — draw, place, save. Note that a drawn signature is not a certificate-based digital signature; where a process specifically requires one, neither tool provides it.
Signature generator — questions
Is the background transparent?
Yes, and the image is cropped tightly to the ink.
Is my signature uploaded?
No. It is drawn and saved entirely on your device.
Is this a legally valid signature?
A drawn signature is treated like a signed-and-scanned page in many ordinary contexts, but it is not a certificate-based digital signature and rules vary by country and document.
What if I just want to sign one PDF?
Use the PDF signing tool, which draws and places it in one step.
